Today is the first working Monday in the new year.
New year, new start!
This morning I arrived at the office at 7:30am with a big smile and abundance of energy.
If you read my previous post, you will know that I don’t have one single new year resolution. What I have instead are a few objectives and managing this blog is among the list.
Looking back at the past few days in 2019, I couldn’t think of any significant topic that triggers me to think deep and in turn to share with you my so-called insight.
Everything seems ordinary and plain, just like a few light rain drops quickly disappearing in Lake Ontario.
But this is exactly what life is, isn’t it? It’s filled with small moments, sometimes it’s sweet and sometimes it’s bitter, sometimes it’s bright and sometimes it’s dark.
When you turn around and look back, you will see a string of footprints in the snow. They are there, firm and clear.
Here are a few footprints of mine in the past week:
* Binge watching the HBO season 1 of My Brilliant Friend, a show based on the four-book series of Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante. The books are beautifully written and the show is simply amazing. Check it out if you haven’t done so.
* Very pleased with Shallow winning the Golden Globe best original song award. LadyGaga wins, talent wins. Bravo!
* Finished Brene Brown’s new book Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts., a book that teaches us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong and rave the wilderness. I will put one of the methodology at work in the coming days and share my findings in a future post.
As I finish rambling in this blog, a song is being played on my Spotify.
It’s Keith Urban’s Little bit of Everything.
“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything,
It’s the mountains,
It’s the fog,
It’s the news at six o’clock,
It’s the death of my first dog,
It’s the angels up above me,
It’s the song that they don’t sing,
It’s a little bit of everything.”
Good night world. See you tomorrow!
